Privacy Policy

When you become my patient, I want you to feel as comfortable and safe as possible. I understand how important and personal your physical and mental health information is. That is why I have chosen to share here how I will handle your health information.

I use an electronic medical record (EMR) system called Jane App to create and store your patient records. This system uses data encryption to secure your information. The Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act, or PIPEDA, is a Canadian law that governs how private-sector organizations collect, use, and disclose personal information. Jane App is PIPEDA compliant.

Your personal and medical information is confidential and I will only disclose this information to third parties (eg. your family doctor) with your permission, unless required by law. Further, I will only communicate with your family doctor, specialist, or other care provider or legal aid (eg. write a letter to your doctor about my lab findings) if I have your consent.
